They also don't want to miss out on reading the electronic newspaper on their tablet or planning their next leg of the journey with Google Maps. Moving their home office to their motorhome and working remotely while traveling are also among the desires of campers. However, inside the camper or caravan, mobile reception or the Wi-Fi signal at the campsite or pitch is often limited. The campsite's Wi-Fi might also be subject to a fee, and a more affordable solution is desired. With the SELFSAT MWR 5550, SELFSAT offers the perfect all-in-one solution for stable and reliable Wi-Fi coverage while traveling or at campsites and RV parks.

Three Charging Outputs

Three selectable charging programs (Normal, High, Lithium) Three charging programs are available to select the correct charging voltage for your specific battery type. The Blue Power charger features microprocessor-controlled, adaptive battery management. Adaptive means that the charging process is automatically adjusted to the type of battery usage.

Storage Mode: Reduced Maintenance and Aging During Battery Rest:
Storage mode is activated whenever no discharge has occurred within 24 hours. The float charge voltage is then reduced to 2.2 V/cell (13.2 V for a 12 V battery) to minimize gassing and thus prevent corrosion on the positive plates. Once a week, the voltage is increased to the gassing voltage level. This achieves a kind of equalization charge, which prevents electrolyte stratification and sulfation—the two main causes of premature battery failure.

Also Charges Lithium-Ion (LiFePO4) Batteries
LiFePO4 batteries are charged using a simple constant current phase – constant voltage phase – float charge phase algorithm.

The NIGHT and LOW Settings
When the device is in NIGHT or LOW mode, the output current is reduced to a maximum of 50% of the nominal output, and the charger operates completely silently. NIGHT mode ends automatically after 8 hours. LOW mode can be ended manually. This allows for overnight battery charging without any disruptive fan noise.

Charging with Temperature Compensation
The optimal charging voltage for a lead-acid battery is inversely proportional to temperature. The Blue Power IP22 charger measures the ambient temperature during the test phase and compensates for this temperature during the charging process. The temperature is measured again when the charger is in low-current mode, the float charge phase, or storage mode. Therefore, no special settings are required for cold or hot environments.

The MODE Button
After connecting the charger to AC power, you can use the MODE button to select a different charging algorithm, if needed (the charger remembers the last mode when disconnected from the mains and/or battery). No button needs to be pressed to start charging. As soon as shore power is connected, the charger starts automatically with the saved setting and recharges the connected batteries.

Bluetooth Smart with the Victron Connect App
Set up, view, and configure the Blue Smart charger using your smartphone. The Victron Connect app allows you to view the status of your charger and battery, and even control the charger's functions.
