High Efficiency
With an efficiency of up to 93%, these chargers generate up to four times less heat compared to the industry standard. Furthermore, once the battery is fully charged, power consumption drops to less than 0.5 watts, which is about five to ten times better than the industry standard.
Three Charging Outputs
Up to three independent batteries/battery banks can be charged simultaneously. Of course, only one output can also be used; all outputs are fully functional.
Three selectable charging programs (Normal, High, Lithium)
Three charging programs are available to select the correct charging voltage for your specific battery type. Please check the charging voltage specifications for your battery or contact the battery manufacturer, and then select the appropriate charging program on the charger.
'Constant' charging voltage: Normal: 14.4V / High: 14.6V / Li-ion: 14.2V
'Maintenance' charging voltage: Normal: 13.8V / High: 13.8V / Li-ion: 13.35V
'Storage' charging voltage: Normal: 13.2V / High: 13.8V / Li-ion: not applicable
Adaptive 6-stage charging algorithm: Test - Bulk - Absorption - Recondition - Float - Storage
The Blue Power charger features microprocessor-controlled, adaptive battery management. Adaptive
means that the charging process is automatically adjusted to the type of battery usage.
Storage Mode: Reduced Maintenance and Aging During Battery Rest:
Storage mode is activated whenever no discharge has occurred within 24 hours. The float charge voltage is then reduced to 2.2 V/cell (13.2 V for a 12 V battery) to minimize gassing and thus prevent corrosion on the positive plates. Once a week, the voltage is increased to the gassing voltage level. This achieves a kind of equalization charge, which prevents electrolyte stratification and sulfation—the two main causes of premature battery failure.
Also Charges Lithium-Ion (LiFePO4) Batteries
LiFePO4 batteries are charged using a simple constant current phase – constant voltage phase – float charge phase algorithm.
The NIGHT and LOW Settings
When the device is in NIGHT or LOW mode, the output current is reduced to a maximum of 50% of the nominal output, and the charger operates completely silently. NIGHT mode ends automatically after 8 hours. LOW mode can be ended manually. This allows for overnight battery charging without any disruptive fan noise.
Charging with Temperature Compensation
The optimal charging voltage for a lead-acid battery is inversely proportional to temperature. The Blue Power IP22 charger measures the ambient temperature during the test phase and compensates for this temperature during the charging process. The temperature is measured again when the charger is in low-current mode, the float charge phase, or storage mode. Therefore, no special settings are required for cold or hot environments.
The MODE Button
After connecting the charger to AC power, you can use the MODE button to select a different charging algorithm, if needed (the charger remembers the last mode when disconnected from the mains and/or battery). No button needs to be pressed to start charging. As soon as shore power is connected to the charger, it will automatically start charging the connected batteries with the saved settings.
Bluetooth Smart with the Victron Connect App
Set up, view, and configure the Blue Smart charger using your smartphone. The Victron Connect app allows you to view the status of your charger and battery, and even control the charger's functions. By default, the voltage and current are displayed on the screen.

Overheating Protection
The output current is reduced if the temperature rises to 50°C, but the Blue Power charger will not fail.
