As already explained in detail, very good reception is only possible if the antenna is mounted on a conductive metal surface. You can glue these roof bonnets directly onto the roof if there is a possibility to lead the cables into the interior of the vehicle under the roof bonnet.

First, the antenna is screwed to the roof bonnet, then a roof grommet is drilled and the antenna's 30 cm long cables are fed through to the inside of the vehicle.

For bonding and sealing the plastic roof bonnet we recommend the bonding set (DN-SetMS5). This item is not included in the delivery and must be ordered separately.

Please note that in case of service, the bonding of the roof bonnet must be loosened in order to replace the antenna!

About the product:

Groundplane for GRP roof superstructures. The plastic roof cover with internal metal plate provides the necessary counterpole for the optimum function of car radio antennas on GRP roofs. The roof bonnet is glued and can also be screwed. For the bonding work, we recommend the optional DEKALIN bonding set DN-SetMS5.

Low-loss cables are the cables with the best electrical properties for the loss-free transmission of antenna signals. Our lowloss cable series has the best conductivity values and therefore the lowest cable resistance. They are achieved by using tinned strands for the inner conductor (7*d=0.25mm), for the shield (42*d=0.11mm) and an additional aluminium foil between the PE dielectric and the shield. Only high-quality Fakra plugs and sockets from Rosenberger are used. They have an excellent finish and fit due to a special punch-bend technology of the Rosenberger company(Fakra-SF).

The Sun Pearl modules are manufactured with the innovative shingle technology. Without the surface cell connectors (bus bars) and with black back foil, the module with its dark mono-cells has a homogeneous appearance. Each individual string supplies the full module voltage. The strings are connected in parallel and therefore the module can provide the power of the remaining strings despite shading of individual cells or strings.

The solar panel features high-quality Sun Pearl cells. The shingle cell technology divides the panel into 3 parallel branches. If one branch is covered by shade, the other branches continue to operate. Therefore, the shade resistance of these panels is very high.
