Frequently asked questions:
Which devices can be charged?
The power adapter supports various charging protocols. The most important one is the PD 3.1 protocol. It supports up to 140W of charging power. So you don't have to worry about which device you connect. The power supply communicates with the device being charged and automatically adjusts the correct voltage and the required current; everything happens fully automatically. :
How is the power supply connected?
The power supply is designed to be permanently connected to the vehicle's electronics/body electronics. To do this, simply connect the plus (red) and minus (black) terminals to the battery voltage. The best way to do this is to connect the power supply to your fuse block. The power supply must be protected with 15A. The power supply has a standby current of 0.3W. This is very low, but it is recommended to equip the charger with a switch. Or you can use our relay board and conveniently switch it via a relay from the touchscreen or web interface.
What is the maximum charging power possible?
The power supply meets the full specifications of PD3.1. This means you can expect a continuous charging power of 140W at 28V and 5A, allowing you to charge or operate even larger laptops/MacBooks without any problems. Alternatively, two devices can be charged simultaneously with a total of 145 W.
Why is the power supply in two parts?
We separated the actual power supply from the charging socket to allow for space-saving installation. In principle, all devices can also be connected directly to the power supply.
Do I still need a 230 V inverter?
Many smaller inverters are used solely for this purpose and to charge laptops and other electronic devices. Most people use the standard 230 V power supply from the device. This approach is outdated due to this power supply in terms of cost, efficiency, and space.
