Difference to other solutions, such as 13550 or 13552:
Most double DIN radios are mounted as follows, e.g. for 13500 and 13552:
1. mounting of the plastic facia adapter.
2. insert the sheet metal basket into the plastic cover from the front and fix it by bending over various tabs.
3. Install the metal clips supplied with the metal basket on the side of the radio.
4. Push the radio into the metal basket from the front until the metal clips snap into place.
5. Cover the gap between the radio front and the plastic cover with the cover frame supplied with the metal basket.
In the case of the 60144 panel shown here, the radio is mounted from behind against the panel and finally installed in the dashboard together with the plastic panel.
This eliminates the need for the inner cover of the facia adapter as described in item 5 above and makes the installation look a bit more shapely.
Please note that this is possible with most branded radios if you have the taper in the front to 98 x 172.5 mm. Some so-called Chinese radios do not have this taper.
